Quiznos apuesta por un menú más saludable

La cadena de restaurantes Quiznos lanzó nuevas propuestas en su menú, esto con el objetivo de suplir las necesidades de un mercado costarricense muy cambiante.
Entre las novedades está el aumento de un 30% de proteína en el sándwich pequeño, además los tamaños son más grandes.
También se incluyeron seis ensaladas en las que los comensales podrán seleccionar el tipo de proteína que deseen, así como wraps y sopas.
“Nuestra comunicación constante con los seguidores de la marca nos ha permitido conocer datos sobre sus gustos y preferencias para realizar los cambios. No obstante, esta vez quisimos ir más allá con nuestra investigación”, dijo Juan Carlos Rodríguez, gerente de Mercadeo de QSR International.

Quiznos abre un segundo local en Liberia

QZCR, uno de los operadores de Quiznos Costa Rica para el master franquiciado QSR Internacional en la región de América Latina y El Caribe, invirtió más de $175.000 en un segundo local de restaurante Quiznos en Liberia, Guanacaste.

Esta compañía es una de los tres franquiciados múltiples de Quiznos en Costa Rica, marca que actualmente mantiene 31 locales en funcionamiento.

QSR International mantiene un continuo desarrollo de estas franquicias en 16 países de Latinoamérica y el Caribe. Durante 2016, Quiznos abrió tres locales en Costa Rica e invirtió casi $1 millón.

El nuevo local de 80 metros cuadrados (m²) genera empleo a nueve personas, y se ubica en la intersección principal de Liberia, una de las regiones más significativas para el turismo local e internacional del país.

En Costa Rica, QSR ubica su Centro de Soporte para Restaurantes (sede) y su escuela de entrenamiento llamada Centro de Excelencia.

En el país, QSR International franquicia opera 31 restaurantes Quiznos, 7 restaurantes Teriyaki Experience, 3 restaurantes SmashBurger, 1 panadería Cinnabon y 1 Centenario Rum Bar & Café.

Juan Carlos Rodríguez, gerente de mercadeo de QSR International, informó que tenían una fuerte demanda de parte de los seguidores de la marca en la zona de Libera, quienes les pedían un segundo local en la zona, uno al que pudieran acceder de una manera mucho más fácil, pues el otro restaurante se encuentra en el aeropuerto Daniel Oduber.

Quiznos Continues Push for Global Expansion

DENVER – Oct. 30, 2014 – Quiznos continues to expand its industry-leading international development with growth into seven countries in Asia and the Middle East. This is the latest addition to an international development strategy to open more than 1,000 restaurants in more than 40 countries by 2020 and will widen the company footprint abroad through the help of trusted international Master Franchisees.

Malaysia and China

On Oct. 28, Quiznos celebrated the grand opening of the first Quiznos restaurant in Malaysia. AUM Hospitality (AUMH) penned the deal to bring the brand’s toasted subs to 100 future locations in Malaysia. The Grand Opening event featured Q&A with key players in the development and a sandwich-eating competition with winners receiving free sandwiches for one year.

Indonesia and Taiwan

Later this year, the company will open the world’s largest Quiznos restaurant in Indonesia. The 10,000-square-foot space will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Quiznos will also feature its Q Café platform in the Indonesian location, serving up high-quality brewed coffee alongside toasted subs.

United Arab Emirates

In September, Quiznos opened its first restaurant in Abu Dhabi.  Master Franchisee Royal Bun Café plans to open seven additional locations by the end of 2014 in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, RAK, Sharjah and Fujairah. The group will open 75 restaurants in Bahrain, the UAE and neighboring Oman by 2021.

Quiznos brings toasted subs to Taipei

TAIPEI – Sept. 1, 2014 – Toasted submarine sandwich brand Quiznos kicked off a 10-day trial run at its first store in Taiwan Monday in a bid to take a slice of the country’s fast food market.

The Denver-based chain revealed on its Facebook page that it has launched the 10-day trial run in Taipei’s bustling Xinyi district, not far from the landmark Taipei 101 skyscraper.

The company aims to be a competitor to American chain Subway, which has nearly 140 restaurants across Taiwan.

Founded in 1981, Quiznos is the second-largest submarine sandwich shop chain in North America. It currently has over 2,000 outlets in 40 countries.

Quiznos Stepping Up Drive-thru Presence in Central America

SAN JOSE – Sept. 29, 2014 – QSR International has announced the opening of its fourth restaurant in Nicaragua, as well as the construction of the first Quiznos drive-thru location in Costa Rica.

QSR International is the master franchise off Quiznos (as well as Smashburger and Teriyaki Experience) in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Heavier Focus on Drive-thrus

The new drive-thru unit currently under construction will be located near the municipal courthouse in Guadalupe, San José, Costa Rica. It will incorporate a new dual equipment line which has reduced service times by 40 percent, according to Richard Eisenberg, president of QSR International.

“We developed a new, dual-sided equipment line which, with improvements to POS and ‘on the fly’ kitchen monitors, has significantly improved speed of service, enabling us to build more drive-thrus,” he said in an email to QSRweb.

Within QSR International’s Latin and Caribbean markets, there are currently four open units with a drive-thru, out of 97 total units. Eisenberg said there will be “several more” built in 2015.

“Our average unit volumes for Quiznos are about double the US, and drive-thrus are even higher. Drive-thru units are projected to sell 40 to 50 percent of their sales in the drive-thru,” he said.

The Costa Rica location will be the eighth unit owned and operated by one of QSR’s three local franchise partners, Food Corp. It also will be the 29th Quiznos in Costa Rica.

Nicaragua

The new Nicaragua location is in Managua, in the Multicentro Las Americas Mall, Villa Progreso. It is operated by Industrias de Comida Rápida SA (INCORSA), and is the fourth of five units planned for Nicaragua.

“Quiznos has quickly become a highly successful and favorite restaurant brand in the Nicaragua marketplace,” INCORSA CEO Bergman Castillo said in a news release. “We believe that Quiznos’ superior premium ingredients are a key attribute of our success.”

Quiznos, KFC Opening More Costa Rica Locations in $2.5 Million Regional Expansion

SAN JOSE – Aug. 5, 2014 – Costa Rica-based QSR International, a fast food franchise developer, confirmed it will invest $2.5 million in opening new locations in the region this year. The company plans to add six Quiznos restaurants, two Smashburgers and one KFC.

In Costa Rica, the company will add a new Quiznos in Guadalupe, north of San José. The sub shop location will cost $285,000. A KFC also will open in Costa Rica in coming months in the southern San José canton of Desamparados, with an investment of $1 million, according to brand manager Juan Carlos Rodríguez.

Paola Tinoco, brand manager for Quiznos and Smashburger, said the new Guadalupe location will be the first self-service Quizno’s restaurant in the country.

The expansion also includes franchises in other Latin American and Caribbean countries.

“We want to replicate the success we have achieved in Costa Rica,” Tinoco said.

This month the company will open a second Smashburger location in Panama. In coming months, Quiznos restaurants will open in Venezuela, Panama, Aruba, Guyana and Nicaragua. The total cost of those investments is more than $1.5 million.

The company currently has 69 restaurants in Costa Rica: 32 KFCs, 29 Quiznos, five Teriyaki Experiences, two Smashburgers, one Cinnabon and one Centenario Coffee Bar.

Quiznos Finds Financial Foothold in Emerging Asian Markets

DENVER – Nov. 8, 2013 – Following its most recent International successes in Mexico, Russia, and the United Arab Emirates, Quiznos will bring toasted sandwiches to Indonesia with the signature of PT Quiznosindo as the brand’s newest franchisor. The group, led by Mr. Tan Po Lian, plans to open 100 units in Indonesia over the next 10 years.

The partnership in Indonesia is the latest in a series of Quiznos development successes in Asia, including expansion into South Korea, Singapore and the Philippines.
